Office Park
may receive new life
A Doylestown development group, which brought new life to
Bristol, seeks to bring high-end medical research firms
to Rohm and Haas. The Keystone Redevelopment Group hopes
to reconstruct and expand upon the office park near Route
413 and River Road in Bristol Township.
Keystone recently redeveloped the Grundy Powerhouse, turning
the Bristol plant
into high-end condos. A second project by the firm brought
housing and retail to the Canal's End Plaza, which included
the Grand Theater on Mill Street.
Keystone has not yet supplied building plans or permit applications
to the township. Developer Robert Loughery said his company
plans to renovate 170,000 square feet of existing office
and lab space. The company also wants to construct two new
buildings totaling 60,000 square feet. The Bridge Business
Center would be located just east of River Road along Route
413 in the township.
Rohm and Haas recently launched a campaign to market its
massive industrial space in both Bristol Township and the
borough. More than 150 acres of undeveloped waterfront are
up for grabs near the Bristol plant, which has downsized
operations in recent decades.
Development near the Burlington-Bristol Bridge could provide
a much-needed shot in the arm to Bristol Township. The township
has struggled to alleviate the tax burden on homeowners
in Levittown and Croydon.
